Job Description Job Description The Position We are hiring a part-time AP Calculus Tutor to deliver exceptional 1-on-1 in-home tutoring in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia . Sessions are scheduled after school (weekdays, 4-10 PM) and on weekends, providing flexible hours to fit your schedule. Key Responsibilities Deliver 90-minute private, in-home tutoring sessions for AP Calculus AB and/or BC Create customized lesson plans to address individual student needs and learning goals. Maintain consistent, positive communication with parents and students to build trust and rapport. Collaborate with the Top Score team to track student progress and refine tutoring strategies. Provide academic guidance to build students confidence and support their success on AP Calculus exams. Ideal Candidate Proven experience teaching or tutoring both AP Calculus courses (AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC) Current or former high school teachers or graduate students pursuing a Masters/Ph.D. in Math are strongly preferred. Additional expertise in tutoring high school STEM subjects is a plus. Bachelors degree required; advanced degrees or certifications in education/Math fields preferred. Passionate about building positive, supportive relationships with students and families. Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong time management and process adherence. Excellent communicator, responsive, and committed to collaborative teamwork. Compensation & Benefits Competitive Pay : Starting at $50-$75/hour , with potential to earn up to $85/hour based on experience and tenure. Travel Bonus : Additional compensation for travel exceeding 30 minutes to student homes. Minimum commitment of 8 teaching hours per week (e.g., 1-2 weekday evenings and one weekend day). Reliable access to a car and willingness to travel up to 30 minutes for in-home sessions.
