bulk transportation, milling and mining and railroad. Job Overview
Manages and/or performs all tasks related to Preventive and
Reactive Maintenance within the shop facility as further detailed
below. Manages and performs all duties related to shipping and
receiving as further detailed below. Performs all required material
handling to ensure safe handling of customer product in a
coordinated and timely fashion with regard to Production needs and
schedules. Creates purchase requisitions for all shop production
supplies, as well as any required purchases for facility
maintenance and safety items. Meets with SPM weekly to discuss
current and upcoming maintenance activities. Attend weekly
production meetings to coordinate material handling duties for shop
projects. Roles and Responsibilities Administration: Coordinate all
required shipments with carriers and communicate with customers
regarding incoming or outgoing shipments. Coordinate maintenance
subcontractors, including electricians, boiler repair contractors
and inspectors. Maintains a calendar for preventative maintenance
activities and updates the existing spreadsheets with all
activities performed, including dates. Oversees all hazardous waste
disposal. This includes proper labeling of Haz-waste, Haz waste log
and any DEP related regulation. Must be RCRA-trained (we will
train) for hazardous waste handling and facilitating RCRA training
for those individuals. Oversees management of drums on loading
dock/satellite location and ensuring that all Haz-waste materials
are being stored properly prior to disposal. Stays current on all
DEP/EPA hazardous waste, water, and air regulations Maintenance:
Manages and executes preventative maintenance plan and performance
of plant maintenance projects. Provide technical support, advice,
guidance, and hands on support as needed to technicians working
with equipment and Shop Production Manager as needed. Performing
periodic inspections of all safety-related equipment, including
breathing air boxes, SCBA’s, emergency eyewashes and showers, fire
extinguishers and alarms. It is required that you make up a chart
listing all these inspections and dates that they are required so
that you can easily track these inspections. Responsible for all
forklift and compressor maintenance, and for tracking oil change
schedules. As above, it is suggested that you keep a chart to track
this. As our primary maintenance person, it will be your primary
duty to address all maintenance-related problems as they are
brought to your attention, as quickly as possible. You are also
counted on to formulate solutions that are the longest lasting
solutions at the lowest possible cost (this will not always be the
quickest or easiest solution). You will be required to take it upon
yourself (and through conversations with management) to perform
preventive maintenance and install cost-saving measures so that the
plant operates more efficiently. Actively pursue means and methods
for improvement of the facility and material handling capabilities.
Perform special projects, as directed. Snow removal (as needed).
Shipping/Receiving/Material Handling: Crane operation, material
handling Responsible for overall condition of the shipping office,
loading docks and entire yard (cleanliness, organization).
Responsible for counting parts received, recording, and verifying
that we received all parts noted on packing lists. As the last
person to see/handle a job, has the responsibility of reporting
and/or correcting any damage or any quality issues that are
observed while loading the job on the truck. Photograph all loaded
shipments prior to leaving our site. Remove incoming materials from
receiving area on a daily basis and place in appropriate storage
(i.e. rubber in cold room, coatings/solvents in flammable storage
units/solvent shed). Qualifications and Educational Requirements A
minimum of 5 years Industrial maintenance experience required and
verifiable High School Diploma or educational equivalent (GED)
preferred Experience using power tools is required Must work well
in a team environment, as well as independently Must be
professional and have a good work ethic Must be well-organized and
have good housekeeping skills Possess good problem-solving skills
Forklift experience required Ability to meet or exceed the
Company's attendance and punctuality standards Reliable
transportation is required Physical Demands Some lifting required
(5-50 lbs.) Ability to climb ladders Ability to work in confined
spaces without claustrophobia Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling,
laying horizontally, climbing, standing for prolonged periods and
