Job Description:
Amazon Web Services (AWS), a leader in cloud computing, is
seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commissioning Area Manager
for our AMER-East ACx region. This role is pivotal in ensuring that
AWS data centers operate at peak efficiency and are commissioned
according to the highest standards of operational readiness,
reliability, and safety. The Commissioning Area Manager will
oversee all commissioning activities from conception to completion,
including the integration of new technologies and the maintenance
of infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of IT
systems, electrical and mechanical systems, and project management.
The successful candidate will contribute to the expansion and
upkeep of AWS's infrastructure, directly impacting our service
delivery to millions of users globally. Lead and manage all aspects
of commissioning activities for data center projects within the
region. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate and
validate new technologies and systems. Ensure compliance with
safety, quality, and industry regulatory standards during project
execution. Manage timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
efficiently, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within
cost constraints. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation
strategies for commissioning activities. Provide leadership in
troubleshooting and resolving issues during the commissioning
phase. Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior
management. Strong technical knowledge of data center
infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and IT systems
Excellent project management skills, with proven ability to manage
multiple projects simultaneously Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills Proficient in the use of project management
tools and software Exceptional communication and leadership skills
