hiring a Sr. Product Design Engineer for the Electrical Products
and Services engineering team. This electrical product focused team
is a part of a global engineering team, responsible for the design
and continuous innovation for products used within our rapidly
expanding data center foot print. The Electrical Product
Engineering team at Amazon works to design and develop resilient,
cost-effective electrical distribution products and systems. As

Senior Design Engineer with an Electrical Engineering background
with hands-on experience in new product design and development of
electrical power distribution equipment such as Low Voltage
Switchgear, Power Distribution Cabinets or LV panel boards. If you
can design electrical power distribution product/s and equipment,
help to test and successfully test the products per latest codes
and standards using third party test laboratories then you will be
a good fit. You will directly lead product design and development
and be a part of the process from concept to implementation. You
must be capable of defining equipment specifications and evaluating
the merit of design changes. You will be relied on as a subject
matter expert in the product design field At Amazon, teamwork is
absolutely necessary for us to accomplish our goals. You must be
able to work within a team and depend on others to accomplish the
required work. As a product engineer at Amazon, you will be working
with other internal groups as well as external groups including
engineering service providers, manufacturers, vendors, inspectors,
third party testing labs and contractors. Key job responsibilities
- Supports the Data Center Design Engineering, Principal
Engineering, and Hardware Engineering teams to design and develop
innovative concepts into new products needed for power distribution
for data center. - Lead new product design, development and work
with internal teams to understand design requirements and solicit
customer input. - Collaborate with other disciplines such as
mechanical and structural engineering, reliability, QA/QC and
compliance to create well thought out products. - Creation of
designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements while
delivering a return on investment. - Work with global suppliers and
manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment, devices
and bill of materials. - Ensure compliance with federal, state and
municipal requirements and building codes across different
countries. - Prepare, Review and approval of product design and
drawings including electrical bill of materials, configuration,
layouts, assembly, construction and electrical wiring drawings. -
Define project scope and provide technical support for information
requests prior to, and during manufacturing phases. - Work with
field engineering and commissioning teams to properly set up test
processes and validate installation, operation, and performance of
electrical products. - Ability to work on concurrent projects in
multiple geographical regions. - Support of Operations including
failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and
troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review. - Be a
leader within the group as well as within internal and external
teams that support the data center. - Having fun while offering

a related field - Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and
electrical equipment - Experience in data center design,
construction, operations, or facility maintenance - Experience
researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of
data center equipment and facilities - 4 Years of experience of
Electrical or Mechanical Product Design for Power Distribution
Equipment, or 4 years of Data Center or Mission-Critical Design,
Construction, or Operations - Professional Engineering or
Architectural License - Knowledge of building codes and regulations
for your region - Experience carrying design concepts through
exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production -
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction
drawings, specifications, and submittal documents - 6 Years of
experience of Electrical or Mechanical Product Design for Power
Distribution Equipment, or 6 years of Data Center or

this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include
sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final
