Washington DC | Hybrid, work remote and on-site at client
location(s) A day in the life of the successful candidate: During
an office day, you might work on these types of tasks: · Assist
with new construction and retrofit construction commissioning
projects, including functional testing and creating deliverables. ·
Develop plans for on-site testing. · Conduct analysis to support
on-site work. · Review drawings and specifications across multiple
projects to ensure that the client’s intent is met during the
design phase. · Review product data submittals across multiple
projects to ensure that the equipment ordered aligns with the
specified equipment. · Write reports that summarize the key
findings of our work for external audiences. · Interface with
project managers, subcontractors, and members of the design and
construction teams for clarification and feedback. · Contribute to
business development, including speaking events, proposal
development and project interviews. During a day in the field, you
might: · Attend a commissioning coordination meeting with the
client or client’s representative, design team, and keycontractors.
· Spend a day with a contractor to test and explore the systems
they installed, proactively asking thoughtful questions to identify
and resolve issues and documenting outstanding issues. · Witness
and report on the startup of a new system on the client’s behalf to
troubleshoot as needed. · Spend a day on the roof or climbing
ladders to access and assess equipment in difficult-to-reach
spaces. · Adjust your communication style to effectively interface
with a wide range of construction team members, sometimes about
sensitive issues (e.g., architects, designers, facilities managers,
contractors, manufacturers’ representatives). · Travel overnight to
client locations (historically less than 20% of the time). Basic
Qualifications: · Associates, bachelor’s or master’s degree, or
equivalent military experience, in a technical field such as
engineering or related field · Minimum of 5 years of work
experience in commissioning new construction or retrofit projects,
or building automation system engineering. Adjacent fields, such as
design engineers, MEP coordinators, or controls
technicians/programmers with the required degree(s) and project
engineering experience are also potential fits. · Possess an ANSI
Accredited commissioning certification through ASHRAE, BCA or ACG,
or have the desire to earn one. · Demonstrated experience with
analysis of trended field data and/or statistical analysis. ·
Demonstrated excellence in communication (written and oral) and
organizational skills. · Moderate to advanced skills in MS Excel,
Word, PowerPoint etc. · Additional skill sets that would be a plus
include Bluebeam, Visio, and programming skills in VBA, or other
relevant analysis languages and tools. · Demonstrated success in
troubleshooting technical issues with HVAC, electrical, and
plumbing systems. · Curiosity to learn and explore security, life
safety, communication and building envelope systems. · Pass NCIC
background checks, or other background checks, as required by our
clients. · Pass an initial drug test and subsequent random drug
tests required by our clients. · Hold a valid driver’s license and
provide your own mode of transportation. Company Description We
