Job Description Job Description Description: We are looking for an experienced truck driver to serve our customers in the Poultry Industry in a safe and timely manner. Willing to train new CDL drivers. Competitive pay Local / Regional deliveries Home daily and Long Haul available No touch loads Family oriented environment Responsibilities Transport poultry over land from farms to manufacturing plants and distribution centers Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance Plan routes and meet delivery schedules Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures Secure loads for transport Pull tarps as needed for transport. Note that his may require climbing up or onto the top of the trailer to ensure tarps are positioned appropriately Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions Collect and verify loading and delivery instructions Report defects, accidents or violations Requirements: Skills Proven work experience as a truck driver / new drivers considered Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc) Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations No recent moving or driving violations Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc) Valid truck driving license
