Title: Research Assistant (3D-Printed Microfluidic Biofuel
Cells)

Duration: Full Time Temporary (through December 31 2025)
Overview: The Department of Physics has a requirement for
contractual services for a Research Assistant at the level of a
Master's degree holder, to conduct research on three-dimensional
(3D)-printable biofuel cells. This research is needed in part to
meet responsibilities towards an awarded grant from an Office of
Naval Research (ONR) sponsor on the biofuel cells project. The
contractor shall provide qualified research labor to support Naval
Postgraduate School's Physics Department. The requirement shall be
satisfied by technical and research work on campus.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, fabricate, and test 3D-printed biofuel cell chips and
arrays
Analyze experimental data and optimize device performance
Document results and assist in writing scientific reports and
research papers
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's in Physics, Applied Physics, Mechanical or Electrical
Engineering
1+ year of experience in:
Experimental STEM research
Microfluidic device design, 3D printing, and lab work
Biofuel cell research
CAD tools (preferably SOLIDWORKS)
Scientific writing and project design
Work Schedule:
Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 4:30 PM PST, excluding federal holidays
